Fernweh ("we", "us") builds AI-assisted travel itineraries at askfernweh.com. This page explains what we collect, why, and what rights you have over it. It's written in plain English on purpose — if anything is unclear, email us at admin@askfernweh.com.

What we collect

  • Account info: your email address, if you create an account (via email/password or Google sign-in).
  • Trip inputs: the trip description, dates, budget, and destinations you provide when generating an itinerary, and the itineraries themselves once saved.
  • Feedback: ratings, categories, and messages you submit through the feedback widget, optionally including your email and nationality if you choose to share them.
  • Basic technical data: things like IP address and browser user-agent, used only for abuse prevention (rate limiting) and error diagnostics — never sold or used for advertising.

Who processes it

We rely on the following processors to run the product:

  • Supabase — database, authentication, and backend functions.
  • Lovable AI Gateway — routes itinerary-generation requests to underlying language models.
  • Tavily — live web search used to ground cost estimates and destination details in real data.
  • Unsplash, Pexels, and Pixabay — destination photography shown in itineraries.
  • OpenCage — geocoding place names to map coordinates.
  • Resend — transactional email (e.g. feedback notifications).

None of these processors receive more than the minimum data needed to do their job, and none are permitted to use your data for their own advertising.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, export, or delete any personal data we hold about you at any time by emailing admin@askfernweh.com. Deleting your account removes your saved itineraries and profile data; some anonymized records (e.g. aggregate feedback) may be retained.

Affiliate links

Some links in your itinerary (hotels, flights, activities) point to booking partners and may be or become affiliate links — see our Affiliate Disclosure for details.

Cookies

We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. Sign-in uses a secure session token required for the app to function.
